One day back in July 2023 I was watching a Music Feedback Stream hosted by TKC and Insko, and during it I heard an absolutely incredible track. It was a VIP remix of one of my favorite songs, Grasp On To Life by K I N G D O M, Vorstell, and Hylia. The remix was done by K I N G D O M along with DRECHO, an artist who had no releases at the time.

Right after stream, I messaged DRECHO to see if I could make a little something for the song, and thats where it all started. The very first scene I worked on was the title sequence with each artist's name/logo, followed by the song name. The original video had some major differences, including a different font as well as some color grading differences and an entirely scrapped second verse scene which was filmed by me (there is a remnant of this scene in the final video).

From Video to Official Artwork

While I was wrapping up the video around Mid August of 2023 (Yes, the video was mostly done for months) I was fiddling around with making artwork for the VIP. I had no idea about the remixes at this time, so I made a cover art based off of an AI concept someone had posted in a Discord server I'm active in (Thanks Airlyn!). The artwork had featured a winged angel type figure in a sort of temple interior. The figure is actually a picture of Hylia, who made a complete costume just for this, which is insane! Once we had the cover art, I went back and fiddled more on the VIP video.

Around Mid-October 2023, I was putting the final master of the song in the video, and thats when I learned about the remixes. I had an old project consisting of the main drop visual with the camera positioned in a spot looking towards the main structure from the outside, and I decided to make a remix album cover. At the time there was already artwork, which was a modified version of the original Grasp On To Life cover, but K I N G D O M and Valiant (The Label) loved my version way more. At this point there was a VIP cover as well as a remix album cover.

In Early November 2023, as the final details were being finalized, I learned that the VIP artwork was not going to be used, however my remix art was also decided to be the final remix album artwork! I had thought of a way to incorporate a piece of the old VIP art into the other file, so I added Hylia's angel picture into the scene, and that became the final cover art!

From Conception to Release

From the time of the video being started up to release was around 6 months, which makes it my longest project ever. I also got to make all the promotion videos for the artists as well as myself leading up to the release.
